Help for caretakers of young children and adolescents with mental illness. Visions for Tomorrow (VFT) is a free 8- to 10-week education course for primary caregivers of adolescents with brain disorders (mental illness). Taught by trained family member volunteers, the curriculum covers brain biology, ADD/ADHD, PDD/autism, Tourette's disorder, conduct disorder, bipolar disorder, depressions, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, childhood schizophrenia/psychosis. Additional topics include parents as case managers, communication skills, coping and self-care, rehabilitation, recovery and transition, and stigma. VFT is funded by the Mass.
