From students to weekend warriors, to professional athletes, Jordan Hospital can help you with the medical and surgical treatment of athletic injuries by physicians who specialize in:

  • Shoulder

Jordan’s sports medicine program provides not only treatment for various injuries, but physicial and occupational therapy. Most services are covered by traditional insurance.

Injury assessment can occur within 24 hours and patients can also be referred to the Sports Medicine Clinic at Plymouth Bay Orthopedics, on Fridays from 2:30-4:30.  Please contact the office at 781-934-2400 on Friday morning prior to arriving for the Sports Medicine Clinic.

Prevention and Conditioning:

Jordan offers free prevention classes two times per year taught by orthopedic surgeons, podiatrists, chiropractor, nutritionist, and rehab staff. Individualized assessments or group conditioning sessions are also offered to achieve sport specific goals.

Nutritional classes are also offered to help athletes achieve their sport specific or individual goals. Individual sessions with a registered dietitian are also available which may be covered as a one time visit, or available at a discounted price through insurance or self pay.

Individualized conditioning sessions and sport specific performance enhancement is taught by an exercise physiologist and are self pay. Group sessions are also available.

Rehabilitation:

The Jordan Hospital Rehabilitation Center couples premium orthopedic care in conjunction with a comprehensive rehabilitation service. The rehabilitation staff works closely with our physicians to design a plan that helps patients reach their maximum potential. In addition to inpatient rehabilitation on the hospital’s campus, patients can receive therapy or sports medicine services at any of three Jordan Rehabilitation Centers:

  • Plymouth Fitness Center, 16 Aldrin Road, Plymouth
  • Jordan Health & Wellness Center, 430 Plymouth Street (Rte 106), Halifax

Scott James DO
Dr. James is the Medical Director of the new Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center. He specializes in the treatment of chronic wounds and all vascular disorders. He performs endovascular and open repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms. He performs the latest endovascular techniques in angioplasty stenting and arthrectomy. He treats peripheral vascular, carotid artery stenosis, venous insufficiency and chronic wounds. He also specializes in hemodialysis access and maintenance.
