Pain Management Treatment
After the cause of your pain is evaluated, one or more of the following treatments may be offered to you at the Pain Management Center.
Exercise Programs Exercise has proven to be an effective pain management treatment. It is a highly successful way to strengthen weak muscles and reduce muscle spasm pain.
Injection Therapies Our anesthesiologists can provide relief of pain by injecting anesthetic (numbing) and anti-inflammatory medications to areas causing pain.
Physical Therapy Physical Therapists offer pain-relieving techniques including posture training, ultrasound treatment, deep-tissue massage, and acupressure as well as whirlpool and ice treatments.
Psychological Counseling Individual and group therapy can help people who are dealing with the difficult emotional issues that often accompany pain.
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) can alleviate pain by increasing the body’s own anti-pain substances. When activated, this pocket sized, battery operated device stimulates nerves that release natural pain-relieving substances.
Acupuncture Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles at very precise acupuncture points.
